Children and same-day surgery
Since the prospect of surgery can be frightening to a young child, as well as his or her parents or guardian, we encourage you and your child to tour our facility before the surgery date. This is a good opportunity to learn about our services and ask questions about the upcoming surgery. To arrange a tour, call (732) 553-9222, Monday though Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

A few days before surgery, a surgery center nurse will give you specific instructions for preparing your child for surgery.

If your child is under age 18, you must accompany him or her on the day of surgery, and remain until he or she is discharged.
